I have not been making for galleries this year while doing my DYCP apart from making some work for The Makery on the Isle of Tiree. The beauty of Tiree's landscapes has been a constant in my life, through regularly visiting family on the island. The work is inspired by the changing patterns found in the rockpools and the dynamic environment of the island. It’s been lovely to play and make something new after so long of having to make the same thing. These samples are thrown and hand built, high earthenware terracotta fired to 1130. decorated with hand-cut paper stencils layered into slips and underglazes, making each piece a one off. I will be making more for them later in the year. I am loving opening my eyes and looking around after years of having my head down.
